Owls Bag Monkey Hangers

Wednesday will face a repeat of their 2005 League One Play-Off success in the second round of the Carling Cup after drawing Hartlepool United at Hillsborough.

The draw took place live on Sky after the Owls' secured their progression to round two with a comfortable 3-1 victory over South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United on Thursday night.

And Wednesday will be keen to see a repeat of their 4-2 triumph in Cardiff as they look to progress further in the competition to boost income at S6.

And the match will also see a return to Hillsborough for former Wednesday hero and manager Danny Wilson who guided his charges through to the second round thanks to an impressive 2-1 victory away at Championship new-boys Scunthorpe United in midweek.

Chris Turner will also be returning to S6 with United in his Director of Sport role while Ritchie Humphreys and Ritchie Barker will be wanting to put one over on their former clubs.

The second round ties will be played in the week commencing August 27th 2007, keep checking Vital Sheffield Wednesday for all the latest updates.
