Miller Rejects Owls

Miller Rejects Owls

Wednesday could have had a ready made replacement for Chris Brunt had Manchester City's Ishmael Miller not rejected the Owls for a move to West Brom last week.

The Northern Irish winger bagged a £3m move to the Midlands club toward the end of last week which left a gap on the left wing which is currently being occupied by Wade Small.

But young winger Miller revealed that he turned down the chance of regular first team football at Hillsborough as well as a number of other Championship clubs for the chance to join the Baggies.

'I could have gone to Preston, Hull or Sheffield Wednesday, but West Brom was my number one choice.' said Miller.

Miller was rumoured to be a target of Owls boss Brian Laws during the summer and the departure of Brunt looked to have triggered the Owls in to making a bid for the tricky young winger.

But Laws will now have to look elsewhere for a replacement as he looks to bolster his attack and get the Owls off the bottom of the Championship - starting with Saturday's trip to Charlton Athletic.

i can't work out why players want to go to wba after they've sold their good players, they must be offering most of the transfer fees back out as wages

we're obviously the laughing stock of the championship! No-one wants to come to us. Except jeffers......(needs someone to pay his medical bills!)

Really starting to hope that WBA don't go up. I think the main problem is wages. We can't compete with West Brom.

Why would anybody want to go to WBA? They are hardly the best equiped in this division.

West Brom have still got some decent players, but I agree they are hardly the best equipped in the division. Has to be wages, and if they are willing to pay daft money for average players then we all knows where that leads.

maybe dave allen should put a salary cap on his own wages, I wonder how much he earns from the club? maybe enough to pay himself back the money he has put in? food for thought eh

Its his loss, he must have knew we sold Brunt and probably would have walked into our starting 11. I would like Alan Quinn back, but yet again it dusnt solve the height issue in midfield as Miller may have done. After watching wolves, you can see how well there going to do this year. With Freddy Eastwood and Michael Gray both excellent signings. Instead of signing Burch, Grant and Hinds, i think we should have kept Coughlan and Signed 1 quality goalkeeper like Kasper Smeichel during the summer, before he made this man city top of the league.

He's gone West Brom for the money. Anyone with purely footballing interests would come to Wednesday. Hahahaha. We're hardly an attractive option given the calamity pre-season and the shambles that is our ownership. I'd love to see Quinn back either in the centre or on the left. Shoo-out BOB and Lunt asap to free up those wages. Could yack on about Folly again, but it seems Laws aint listening on that one. Cocko's not good enough for Championship anymore, otherwise Burnley would have kept him or perhaps Plymouth also for that matter. And I reckon, hope and pray Grant is a pretty nifty signing by Laws. Until Laws gets someone in, he could do worse than give Rocky a run in the team and alternate him with either Small/Johnson on the left with the other on the right. Of course, inevitably Small and/or johnson will get injured soon, leading to Laws playing Bullen/Watson on the right. The team's alright, the squad aint.
