Gemmill In Owls Trial

Owls boss Paul Sturrock has today revealed that former Nottingham Forest and Everton midfielder Scot Gemmill is on trial with the club.

Gemmill, 35, last played competative football with Leicester City last season, and contacted Sturrock about a trial at Hillsborough.

Sturrock told the official SWFC site: ''Scot came and asked for 7-10 days in which to prove his abilities. He wants to prove he would be a good addition to the squad.''

The former Scottish international could be just what Sturrock is lacking in the midfield - a determined player with bags of experience at this level.

Gemmill could be signed outside the transfer window as he's a free agent, so Sturrock can take his time over deciding Gemmill's future with the club.
