Arsenal Gunning For Frankie?

We all know Frankie Simek is a quality defender and the shining light in the Owls' disappointing season, but is he really ready for a move to Arsenal?

The American right-back has been rumoured in Sunday's News Of The World to be a target of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who could be ready to swoop for the right-back in the January transfer window.

The news will come as a surprise to Wednesday fans, despite Simek's superb form since moving to Hillsborough, but you know what they say - there's no smoke without fire.

Frankie came up through the youth ranks at the London club before being deemed surplus to requirements by Wenger after being snapped up by former Owls boss Paul Sturrock at the start of the 2005-06 campaign.

And despite rumours linking the American with a move to the Premiership with Everton rumoured to be leading the chase, Owls fans were given a boost in the close season with the news that he penned his future to Wednesday by signing a new deal.

But any move from his former club may prove too hard to resist, both from the players point of view, and from a financial point of view from the Owls, should the Gunners make contact in the January transfer window.

Another one out? no doubt to be replaced with another substandard league 2 cast off that no-one else wants. We need more quality in defence, not less. Lost bougherra last year, not replaced. lost coughlan in the summer, not replaced. Never mind, we've still got Lee bullen!!. Good to see some quality in midfield with esajas on saturday!

i dont think that arsenal will go for simek. yes he is a good player, but arsenal can sign world class quality players, not top championship players. maybe a swap for walcott. lol
