Bully Still Upbeat

Owls club captain Lee Bullen is still confident that the Hillsborough tide will turn despite Wednesday enduring their worst start to the season in decades.

Wednesday have lost all four of their opening Championship matches this term despite coming in to the season as one of the favourites for a play-off spot at least.

But Bullen is confident his men will get things right in the coming weeks and go on a run similar to last season which saw the Owls achieve their highest finish since relegation from the Premiership.

We're not too downhearted. Looking at our performances, we just need that break,' Bullen told the Sheffield Star.

'Things aren't going for us. But we'll stick at it.

'Obviously, not having any points after four games is not good, but I think that anyone who seriously analyses Saturday's game will appreciate that we're not far away.

'We dominated the game. We had an overhead kick cleared off the line. We forced five or six melees. On a day when we had half a bit of luck, we'd have won that game 3-1 or 4-1.'

The experienced Scotsman has been one of the casualties of the Owls poor start, being dropped for new signing Richard Hinds for the clash with Bristol City at the weekend.

But it looks as though Bullen will be playing a key part in helping the Owls escape the Championship drop zone after Owls boss Brian Laws failed to secure the signing of a defender before the close of the transfer window last Friday.

If the players share the negativity of most of the S6 supporters then everything becomes much harder. What does 'supporter' mean? 'Someone who shares your feelings or opinions and hopes that you will be successful' - not some miserable ******** who carnt spel and talks constant bulls**t..
