Owls Enter Davies Race

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has entered the race to sign wanted Tranmere Rovers highly-rated winger Steven Davies alongside Leeds and Wolves according to media reports.

Laws highlighted his desire to strengthen his squad before the transfer window last week, and added Dutch winger Etienne Esajas to the Owls ranks last Thursday.

But the Daily Mail is reporting that Laws is keen to sign the 19-year-old hot prospect and will face competition from Championship rivals Wolves and Leeds United for his signature.

Leeds have already seen a trio of bids rejected for the player but it's thought Dennis Wise may return with a loan bid with view to a permanent transfer in the January transfer window.

The Whites failed with a bid of £500,000 earlier in the season and it's thought Wednesday may have to fork out nearer £700,000 for his services, despite his contract being out at the end of the season.

we need a centre back and a left back first!!! b

If we're competing against other clubs for his signature then we won't get him! Simple as that!

Funny you should say that FBNW, thats what a fair few of our fans are saying too lol. If he's available, I'd grab him. The kid has a bright future, and I really would prefer it not be at Master Bates club

Laws has a bigger fixation for wingers than Warnock had for strikers :)

We need a Centre Back & left back first. Its obvioius, whats he playing at? Is think he just likes being linked with all these players, he doesnt ever intend to buy. Where was the money coming from to pay Gregor Rasiaks wages? who's kidding who?

we have enough attacking options for now, we need an experienced battler at the back in the same mould as Watson. Just read that Maclean is out for 3 months
