Owls Linked With Turner

Owls boss Brian Laws is lining up a shock £250,000 swoop for former loanee goalkeeper Iain Turner according to reports in today's papers.

The Owls boss is desperate to bolster his defensive options after a disastrous start to the new campaign and could look at Turner as a possibility in the January transfer window after falling down the pecking order at Goodison Park.

It's yet to be known if Toffees boss David Moyes will allow his young Scottish goalkeeper to leave Goodison Park after revealing that he was part of his plans this season.

But Everton have added stopper Stefan Wessels to their ranks since the pre-season, ans also have young stopper John Ruddy as back-up for the number one jersey, meaning Turner could well be on his way out of the Merseyside club.

Turner had a superb loan spell at Hillsborough towards the end of last season, helping the Owls ho unbeaten during his 11 match stint in S6.

And Wednesday tried to capture his signature at the start of this season, only for Moyes to announce his desire to keep the youngster at Everton this season.

But problems in the Wednesday defence, with both new stoppers Lee Grant and Rob Burch failing to cement a first team jersey, could mean Laws will offer to loan Turner until the January transfer window where a feww could be arranged for the player.

The Scot has made just three starts for Everton since making the move from Stirling and could favour a move away from Merseyside to help progress his domestic and international career.

I wish. Firstly, only 250k? I think not. Secondly, is DA really gonna give Laws another 250k to spend on top of what he's (hopefully) gonna allow as wages for the 4 loan signing we need next week.....

Forget the official website ! This is now just a promotional tool for advertsing and for the sale of subscription based Internet TV. The site's content managers have no incentive to present balanced debate or discussion that might offend or impact the number of people signing up for video clips, buying beer or sourcing new light bulbs !! This means that the site also have a vested interest in issuing news items that will draw return visits such as potential transfer rumours, official statements or 'hear it here first' items. More hits means more cash that can be charged for advertising. Thank god for sites like Sheff Wed Vital .... now I'm off to check out how to win my $500 Victoria Secret Prize !!!

Cant see Everton 'giving' Turner away for £250K, not a prayer. And where might we be able to offload the other 2.

The blunts can have Birch for nothing!
will it ever happen
I don't think this is the websites fault. They're just taking stories that are reported. Blame the source, not the website for telling you about it.

If we could get him, it'd be great..........i'd get rid of grant straight away, as we put faith in him and he's made us a laughing stock. I'd reckon Burch would be a steady 2nd keeper. Bullen and Grant have let us down too often this season, Brian Laws isnt blind and thats why we let inverness speak to bullen, but he dint wanna leave.
