The Reggae Owls?

The Reggae Owls?

Wednesday could soon be changing their nickname from the Owls to the Reggae Boyz if the latest newspaper gossip is to believed.

Scunthorpe's Jamaican midfielder Cleveland Taylor could be on his way from Glanford Park after contract talks with the player broke down recently, with Wednesday rumoured to be in the mix for his signature according to Sunday's News Of The World.

The 24-year-old will be a free agent come the end of the season should he fail to agree terms with the Championship newcomers, and Wednesday are said to be in the race to sign him alongside Hull City once the transfer window re-opens in January.

The former Bolton youth player was brought to Scunthorpe by current Wednesday boss Brian Laws, and the links between the two could see the midfielder favour a move to Hillsborough.

Taylor has been involved in all five of Scunthorpe's league matches so far this term and was a key cog in helping the Iron to promotion from League One last season.

This relies on the fact that Laws is still our manager in January. I can't see it being long until sack-happy Allen has his finger on the button again.

Can't see Laws lasting till october unless major improvement in results, he may even be gone this time next week. Hope Allen has the sense to give him longer - had a similar run of bad luck last Jan/Feb, and look how we ended the season!. Still blatently obvious that we need new blood in defence - Simek, Wood good, Bullen too old, Spurr too inexperienced, not sure about Watson - is he best in midfield or defence? what other defensive options have we got? Hinds. Should have kept cocko and still haven't replaced bougerra! Still think the only way forward for the club is with ALLEN OUT. the shares problem needs to be sorted - this is the only way forward.

It is sorted. 30% from Allen et al, 10% from the shareholders and Wednesdayite have made their 10% available. 50% is available to the right bidder. However, given that Allen is suing the guy who tried to put the shareholders plan into action, I think it's fair to say that there is more to this than the 50%.
