'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Laws Admits 'Huge Task'

Wednesday boss Brian Laws admits he has a 'huge task' on his hands to turn around the Owls' fortunes following their sixth defeat on the spin against Burnley last night.

Goals from Robbie Blake and Chris McCann condemned Wednesday to yet another defeat in front of the Hillsborough faithful on Tuesday night to leave Wednesday still the only team in England yet to bag a point.

And the Owls supremo admits there's a lot of hard work to do following the disappointing defeat against the Clarets as Wednesday prepare for the visit of in-form Hull City this weekend.

'It's going to take a huge, huge haul from the players to pull together and get us out of this mire,' Laws told Sky Sports.

'We've got a huge task on our hands, but the only way we're going to turn this around is by re-grouping and working hard for each other.

'We've got a lot of thinking to do and we need to step back and reflect on that performance and find the solution to help us get that win.

'In our previous defeats I've said we didn't deserve to lose, but tonight we did, we looked like rabbits caught in headlights.'

And Laws has revealed that the confidence within the camp is low following Wednesday's worst ever start to a season.

He added: 'Our confidence drained after their first goal, but the second goal was the real nail in the coffin with the fragile mentality that the players are in.'

Dreadful start - never been so depressed in all my life. When is it going to change for Wednesday? The 1.5 mil we made last year needs to be spent bringing in some quality on loan or our season will be over in October - apart from the fight against relegation that is.
CLIFFANDJ
cliff that would imply we had some fight in us which i dont see
mansfieldowl
I agree Mansfield, there aint anything there. Glad to hear that Laws thinks it was s**t as well, cos if he hadnt that was me done with him.

Brian Laws, I'm right behind you. Stick a rocket up each squad members arse between now and Saturday please. Save the biggest ***** off ones for our new wonder strikers of Akpo Dodgy and Francis Jeffers. Or at least drop them to the bench. The strongest starting line up for Saturday has to be: Grant, Wood, Watson, Simek, Gilbert (if fit), JJ, Small, Whelan, Folly, Burton, Tudgay. Bench: Esajas, Hinds, Birch, Lunt, Jeffers. Also, if you don't sign any loan defensive reinforcements soon, we're *****ed. One left back with a bit of experience and imagination going forward at least please. Could also use another central midfielder other than Whelan who understands the term "tackle"
S6Apple
spot on, but id rather have esajas instead of JJ

Does anyone know why Folly isn't getting in?? He would make the obvious choice for midfield with Whelan instead of that complete waste of space Lunt! Some of Laws decisions worry me - the straikers weren't getting much of the ball on Tues, midfield struggling and being over run and what does he do??? Change the front two. Strange.

BREAKING NEWS; MOURINHO HAS QUIT AS CHELSEA BOSS. HE WILL BE IN THE HILLSBORA HOTSEAT BY MONDAY. HEHEHE HEHEHE
mick66owl
The bad news is that he is bringing Chevchenko with him lol
CLIFFANDJ
Maybe "the special one" might be interested in buying a major share in the club. Hopefully those owned personaly by the chairman. I bet we would not have any problems attracting quality players on loan then. He's been earning over 5M a year for the last 3. His contract was till 2010 so maybe his 'mutual' pay off would be around 8M. Anyone know his mobile number so I can let him know we would be interested. I wouldnt ask a fee.
