Laws Admits 'Huge Task'

Wednesday boss Brian Laws admits he has a 'huge task' on his hands to turn around the Owls' fortunes following their sixth defeat on the spin against Burnley last night.

Goals from Robbie Blake and Chris McCann condemned Wednesday to yet another defeat in front of the Hillsborough faithful on Tuesday night to leave Wednesday still the only team in England yet to bag a point.

And the Owls supremo admits there's a lot of hard work to do following the disappointing defeat against the Clarets as Wednesday prepare for the visit of in-form Hull City this weekend.

'It's going to take a huge, huge haul from the players to pull together and get us out of this mire,' Laws told Sky Sports.

'We've got a huge task on our hands, but the only way we're going to turn this around is by re-grouping and working hard for each other.

'We've got a lot of thinking to do and we need to step back and reflect on that performance and find the solution to help us get that win.

'In our previous defeats I've said we didn't deserve to lose, but tonight we did, we looked like rabbits caught in headlights.'

And Laws has revealed that the confidence within the camp is low following Wednesday's worst ever start to a season.

He added: 'Our confidence drained after their first goal, but the second goal was the real nail in the coffin with the fragile mentality that the players are in.'

Dreadful start - never been so depressed in all my life. When is it going to change for Wednesday? The 1.5 mil we made last year needs to be spent bringing in some quality on loan or our season will be over in October - apart from the fight against relegation that is.
