Threesy Does It For Leon

Wednesday striker Leon Clarke made it three goals in as many games while on loan at Southend United by netting in their 3-2 victory over Doncaster Rovers at the weekend.

The former Wolves man struggled to hold down a first team place in the opening weeks at S6 and was sent out to get some games by Owls boss Brian Laws three weeks ago.

And the Owls boss must be delighted that the loan move is working out well for the young striker, after Clarke netted from the spot on the hour mark to give the Shrimpers all three points.

Clarke has also netted, and had a hand in goals, in his two other appearances in the Southend shirt, in their matches against Oldham Athletic and Gillingham.

The 22-year-old has signed for the club on loan until January and could well see his deal with the League One club extended should he continue on the goal trail, starting against Blackpool in the League Cup on Tuesday night.

Keep on scoring Leon.
will it ever happen
Apart from scoring goals he has a quality first touch and a great pass on him.If you are struggling why did you loan him to us?

Fair play although he does look to be the business.Only thing against him is his pace.

YES HE LOOKED THE BUSINESS WHEN HE ARRIVED AT HILSBORA TOO. He seems to go through games without looking interested so thats why the fans are quick to jump on his back?

I reckon he'll come good after this loan stint. Was just beginning to find his feet at Wednesday. I was his biggest critic at first, but he was excellent against Wolves. Held it up well. His 2 assists and goal against Gillingham were quality. Our joint 3rd top scoring striker so far this season!
