Tommy & Johno Rewarded

Owls defensive duo Tommy Spurr and Michael Johnson have been rewarded for their fine performances at the weekend by being chosen in the official Football League team of the week.

Both players helped Wednesday to their first points of the new Championship season by keeping a clean sheet in the Owls' 1-0 victory over rivals Hull City at Hillsborough at the weekend.

Spurr, whose home kit is sponsored by Vital Sheffield Wednesday, did us proud despite only playing for the first half in the close-fought victory over the Tigers.

And Derby loanee Michael Johnson only came in to the club towards the end of the week but his experience and never-say-die attitude made him a clear winner of the man of the match gong from the clash.

And both have been rewarded by being involved in the Football League's team of the week - lets hope for the same again next week eh lads?

Full Team:

Nicky Weaver (Charlton)

Kevin Foley (Wolves)
Michael Johnson (Wednesday)
Clarke Carlisle (Burnley)
Tommy Spurr (Wednesday)

Grant McCann (Barnsley)
Mark Yeates (Colchester)
Seyi George Olofinjana (Wolves)
Jose Vitor Semedo (Charlton)

Robbie Fowler (Cardiff)
Pablo Counago (Ipswich)
