Kav Ponders Owls Deal

Wednesday loan star Graham Kavanagh has revealed he'd be interested in joining the Owls on a full deal if he has no future in the Premiership with Sunderland.

The former Cardiff and Stoke man enjoyed a winning debut with the Owls on Saturday to kick-start his one-month loan spell at Hillsborough.

And he insists that although he'd love to go back to Sunderland and ply his trade with the big boys in the Premiership, he'd more than consider joining the Owls on a full deal if Black Cats boss Roy Keane tells him his future lies elsewhere.

'I could have sat in the reserves at Sunderland. Would I have been happy? No. The only way you feel like a footballer is to play on a Saturday and give your all, win or lose,' he told the Sheffield Star.

'Ideally I'd like to go back to and get back in the Premiership. If I was told over the next few weeks that situation wasn't going to emerge, certainly I'd be looking to move, and if that was the case, there's no reason why I wouldn't be interested the situation at a huge club like this.'

The news follows fellow loan star Michael Johnson's desire to stay at S6 after picking up the man-of-the-match gong for his star performance in the victory over Hull at the weekend.

if we could get them both we will be sorted. we all saw what a difference they made on saturday.

fingers crossed eh, I don't think we will be able to keep him though I know he is rated highly by loads of the sunderland fans and isn't it always the case when you get a player in on loan and they play well, their respective clubs never want to part company, hopefully the lure of first team football at a big club may sway him, johnson wants to stay and his performance on saturday just goes to show there are players out there who want to play football and wear our shirt, not like the others who only see the £'s flashing in front of their eyes both kav and johnson are experienced footballers that no offence to them have ever had the limelight flashed at them but have been unsung heroes at the teams they have played for, exactly the type of player we need at wednesday no nonsence proffessional footballers that work hard to do the best they can at what they do combine that with a level head and we will no doubt be better off lets hope eh!

Never struck me as a player more interested in more but his attitude of 'I'll sign if I'm not wanted elsewhere' is a tad off putting...Great player but what's his motivation!
DrWatford
Like any player he wants to play at the highest level - you can't knock that surely. Let's just hope Keano doesn't want him and we get him instead. I won't hold my breath, can just see some other Champ side coming in with more cash and bigger wages as always but how great would it be to have both him and johnson!
SuperOwls
If the fans get behind him every game he plays he might just decide he wants to come.
will it ever happen
DrWatford - his motivation is to be playing first team football. Surely its better that he wants to play regularly rather than pocketing a wage playing for the reserves. http://www.midfielddynamo.com/

just listen to the radio sheffield interview with kaven walker. Sounds encouraging that the shareholders are trying to sort something out to try and help us gain a potential investor or is it all rubbish?
Holl
HOPEFULLY it will get sorted but just a quick reality check holl. remember that press conference a couple of months ago with our muched loved chairman. my advise is wait till the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted. UP THE OWLS 4 TONITE

kavanagh is the sort of player sheffield need i think. he is highly motivated, encouragin, and he is the player to keep the lads going. he is a major hero at ninian park, he is the type of player you need around when things are going bad. hope he does well for you, my footballing idol

Can't say I have a problem with his attitude as per the quotes above, he has 3 or 4 years left at best, why wouldn't he want to finish off at as high a level as possible? The important issue is whether he's committed when out there in the blue and white shirt on the football pitch, I didn't read any complaints about his first 2 matches so far?
