'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Owls Engage In Talks

Wednesday chief executive Kaven Walker met with Wednesdayite vice chairman John Gath yesterday to engage in 'friendly' and 'positive' discussions about the future of the club.

The meeting is a stepping stone for further discussions about possible investment in the club, after Walker had previously stated on BBC Radio Sheffield that he wouldn't be entering in to any dialogue with the fans' group following a number of disputes.

And the talks were said to have been encouraging as both parties look to put an end to the feud that has almost overshadowed events on the pitch in recent months.

A statement from Wednesdayite said: 'The meeting was conducted in a friendly and positive manner by both sides. A number of concerns and issues were raised and listened to by both parties who will now report back to their respective boards.

'John said that he was very pleased that the meeting had taken place and hoped that this will be a starting point and lead to further discussions between ourselves and the club.'

And chief executive Walker told the Sheffield Star: 'It was an interesting meeting, and we'll see what happens.'
