Clarke: Goal Machine
Owls striker Leon Clarke is making many Wednesday fans eat their words as he bangs in goal after goal at Southend, but it seems like he could be on his way there for good.
It seems like a regular feature on Vital Sheffield Wednesday since the former Wolves man made his loan switch to the League One club, as he continues to find the onion bag on a regular basis with the Shrimpers.
Clarke netted the opening goal and stole the limelight with his sublime finish as Southend recorded a 2-1 victory away at Port Vale on Saturday.
The goal means the 22-year-old has netted four goals in as many games since making the loan switch to Southend, and helping the Shrimpers charge towards the play-off spots in League One following a hit and miss start.
And the fine form of the hitman could well mean Wednesday fans have seen the last of him donning the famous blue and white stripes, with Wednesday hinting that a full-time deal has already been sorted out between the two clubs once Clarke's loan spell comes to an end in January.
The signing of Clarke by Brian Laws has come under question from the fans, despite the Owls' boss keeping faith with his man, but he could well be set to bite the bullet and let him move on in search of regular first team football.
