'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'Postive' Replies To Loan Extensions

Wednesday boss Brian Laws insists he is trying to extend the loan deals of Michael Johnson and Graham Kavanagh - and admits he's had positive responses from their respective clubs.

The duo have been in inspirational form since making the one month switches but will be due back at their parent clubs following the Owls' clash with Blackpool at Hillsborough next Saturday.

And Laws has revealed that conversation has already taken place between himself and their clubs, Derby County and Sunderland, about a possible extension of their loan deals at S6.

'I've already spoken to Sunderland and I've spoken to Derby and both have reacted very positively,' Laws told the official SWFC website.

'The players want to stay so that's another encouragement as they've played an integral part since they've been here.

'Certainly they've been very influential on the park, a pleasure to work with and we'd like them to stay as long as possible. Our next objective is to get their loans extended.'

Experienced defender Johnson has already revealed his desire to stay an Owl after his loan deal has finished, while Kavanagh has also expressed that he'd like to stay at S6 should his chances as a Black Cat remain limited.
