'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kev Coming Home

Former Owl Kevin Pressman will be returning back to Hillsborough for the first time since his 20-year stay at S6 ended in 2004 - on the coaching staff at Scunthorpe tomorrow.

The Wednesday legend became full time goalkeeping coach at Glanford Park at the start of the season following Scunthorpe's promotion from League One.

And although he admits it will be a bit 'strange' to return to S6 after making over 400 appearances between the sticks for the Owls, he insists he'll be happy if he takes all three points from his former hunting ground.

He told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: 'It's the first time I will have been back since I left in the summer of 2004, and I am sure it will feel a bit strange.

'But as long as we win and come away with three points, it will be a good night.

'When I left, I never got the chance to say goodbye to anybody. That was the end of it for me, so Tuesday night is going to be like a step into the unknown for me to be honest, so how well I will be received or not, I just don't not know.

'I was at Hillsborough for 20 years and still have a lot of happy memories of my time there.'

'Big Kev' left S6 in the summer of 2004 before going on for short spells with Stoke, West Brom, Leicester, Leeds, Coventry and also a short spell over in Irish football.

I remember him! People used to say he could have been England's 'keeper during his heyday in the '90s! (www.colchester.Vitalfootball.co.uk)
