Kav Decision This Week

Wednesday boss Brian Laws will this week find out whether his request to keep Graham Kavanagh on loan at Hillsborough has been successful.

The former Republic of Ireland international's one-month loan stay at S6 from Sunderland is due to expire after this Saturday's home clash with Blackpool - and Laws has already been in contact with Black Cats boss Roy Keane over an extension.

And Keane has revealed that he'll think about the offer in the coming days, as he weighs up what's best for his Sunderland side.

'I've spoken to Brian Laws and he's looking for another month, I'll have a think about it over the next few days,' Keane told the official Sunderland website.

'Kav's enjoyed it, he's had five or six games and most certainly it's helped his match fitness.

'It's a balancing act, I've got to decide what's best for us. They are delighted with him, he's gone down there and done what he and they had hoped for.'

The former Stoke and Cardiff man has made it clear that he'd favour a return to the Stadium of Light if he meant him getting a pop at life in the Premiership.

But should Keane fail to offer him that chance, Kavanagh has revealed that he'd be all too happy to stay at S6 and help the Owls battle their way out of their current situation at the wrong end of the Championship.
