Johnson Extends Loan Spell

Johnson Extends Loan Spell

On-loan defender Michael Johnson has agreed to extend his loan spell at Hillsborough from Derby County for a further month.

The experienced defender has enjoyed a successful one-month stint at Hillsborough since joining the club on loan from the Rams last month, but his deal was due to expire following Saturday's clash with Blackpool.

But Owls boss Brian Laws has lashed out a deal with the Premiership outfit which will see Johnson stay in the blue and white for a further month - until November 27.

And Laws told the official SWFC website that he was delighted to secure the extension of the influential defender.

'We are delighted that Michael Johnson has decided to stay with us for another month,' he said.

'He has brought plenty of experience and knowledge to us and has helped our younger players no end in the time he has been here so far. I am very pleased he is staying here another month and he is a valuable member of our squad at present.'

Johnson will remain an Owl up to and including the South Yorkshire derby clash with Barnsley on Tuesday, November 27, where the Owls could again opt to hold on to their man.

But who else are we going to get that will do any better with the resources we have on offer? The only time anything will change is when we shift Mr Allen out!

Kav was rubbish Tuesday night and thats a fact. However, over his loan period he has stuck out as being a useful player. Sad to see him go, but we knew it probably would happen.
