Kav Extension 'A Possibility'

Experienced midfielder Graham Kavanagh has revealed he could still see his loan deal at S6 extended - despite news last week that he'd be returning to Sunderland.

The Black Cats midfield maestro has enjoyed a successful one-month stint at Hillsborough, with his deal expiring following yesterday's 2-1 victory over Blackpool.

But Kavanagh has revealed that he could still remain at Hillsborough for another month at least, depending on the injury stadium for Mackem boss Roy Keane up at the Stadium of Light.

'Everything is still up in the air, but I've spoken to Roy Keane and he says he will see what the situation is like on Monday or Tuesday regarding injuries at Sunderland,' Kav told the official SWFC website.

'There might be a possibility of another month here, so it might not be the end just yet, we will see. I've had a great time with Sheffield Wednesday, the noise today was as loud as I've heard it in the month I've been here. I'll be more than happy to stay, but as I say, we'll have to see.'

Kavanagh quashed rumours of a loan move to rivals Sheffield United last week, but has always expressed his desire to return to Sunderland should boss Keane offer him the chance of first team football with the Premiership club.

But the Irishman has also expressed his desire to stay in South Yorkshire with the Owls should Keane advise him that his chances are limited on Wearside.

And Wednesday are set to find out about the chances of the 33-year-old former Stoke and Cardiff man putting pen to paper on a further loan deal with the club on Monday.
