Glenn To Miss Pilgrims
Wednesday midfielder Glenn Whelan will miss the Owls' long trip to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the win over Blackpool.
The Irishman picked up a yellow card and was later brought off in the weekend victory by Owls boss Brian Laws to stop him seeing red in a fiesty encounter with the Seasiders.
And as a result the former Republic of Ireland under-21 international will remain in Sheffield when the rest of his team-mates look to continue their form by travelling down to Plymouth this Saturday.
The suspension will see the Dubliner miss his first game in the blue and white stripes this season, after picking up further bookings against Rotherham, Burnley, Norwich and Watford this term.
And it could cause Laws all kinds of problems, with central midfielder Graham Kavanagh also uncertain as to whether he'll be able to extend his loan deal at Wednesday, leaving the Owls lightweight in the middle of the park.
But Steve Watson could be set to make his full return to action after coming on as a substitute at the weekend, while Burton O'Brien could also move in to the centre to allow Etienne Esajas to return on the left.
