Allen Escapes Punishment

Wednesday chairman Dave Allen has escaped punishment from the Football Association (FA) over remarks made to Owls supporters recently.

Allen took time to call a special press conference to refer to members of fans group Wednesdayite as 'scum' and 'cretins', even referring to one woman as a 'venemous bitch' following takeover talk earlier this season.

And the Owls supremo was hauled before the FA's disciplinary panel yesterday to face the charges put against him of using abusive and/or insulting words at the press conference in July.

But Allen was only issued a warning about his future conduct by the hearing panel, who insisted that although the language used was abusive, it hadn't brought the game in to disrepute.

'The commission felt that, considering the background circumstances and the provocation involved, Mr Allen should be warned about his future conduct,' said an FA spokesman.

Well there's a surprise, did we expect anything else?
will it ever happen
no not really. i suppose an apology is out of the question then
mick66owl
I have more chance of becoming the next pope than seing an apology come out of S6.
Skeggy Owl
when do you start at the vatican???? heeeeee
mick66owl
think it's good that he didn't get fined - he'd only add it to the debt at hillsboro! He should be forced to apologise to the fans tho. sooner he's out the better!! (oops, is that me banned from hillsboro now?)

Whenever I start as the pope Mick a certain person will be made to be the first one to kiss my ring !
Skeggy Owl
LIKE IT SKEGGY. More chance of catchin swamp fever than an apology
mick66owl
no way he should apologise, the comments were about a certain group of people, the same group of people who wanted us to get bates in, not the supporters in general. if the majority of wednesday fans looked at the cold hard fans they would agree with DA on this one
wednesday4europe
yea old bates in charge what a mess we would be in, debt free, unbeaten and looking good for automatic promotion. The scum will be in the premiership before us. No matter who the group of fans are he shouldn't be able to say things like that about supporters who will still be here long after he has left the club. Say anything bad about him and you end up in court.
duds
OOH MY GOD DAVE ALLEN AS DISGUISED HIMSELF AS WEDNESDAY4EUROPE. we know we are not the ones who he insulted. but he generalised then he back tracked. he insulted all owls fans and should either apologise or resign
mick66owl
Please tell me your tongue was firmly in cheek with that comment wednesday4europe...

It shouldn't matter what group of Owls fans they are. The chairman shouldn't get away with comments like that!!!
