Johnson Wants Permanent Move

Wednesday loanee defender Michael Johnson has revealed that he wants to make his loan stay at Hillsborough from Derby County permanent.

The experienced defender has helped Wednesday to an upturn in fortunes since making the loan switch from Pride Park and has made his desire to stay at S6 permanently known from day one.

Johnson was club captain at Derby last season but has fallen down the pecking order since the Rams' promotion to the Premiership last term.

And he has confirmed that he'd love to pull on the blue and white stripes permanently following the end of his loan deal, with a permanent deal for the defender on the cards for the January transfer window.

'I am enjoying my time at Sheffield Wednesday. It beats sitting on the bench or in the stands at Derby, even though they are in the Premiership, and I want to make the move permanent,' Johnson told the Sheffield Star.

Johnson has helped Wednesday to five wins from their eight league matches since his arrival in South Yorkshire, and his desire to stay an Owl will be a major boost for boss Brian Laws as he looks to bolster his weak defence.
