JJ's Jamaica Stay Cut Short

Wednesday's wing wizard Jermaine Johnson will be flying home from international duty in Jamaica early after the Owls blocked the player from playing both matches for his homeland.

Johnson's fine form of late saw him called up to the Jamiaca squad for two friendly fixtures, the first of which is against El Salvador on Sunday, during the current international break.

But Wednesday boss Brian Laws has requested that the former Bradford man returns to Middlewood Road after the clash with El Salvador, to avoid injury and jet-lag from playing in the second match on the Wednesday.

'Jamaica were asking about JJ for the second game but we wanted him back,' Laws told the Sheffield Star.

'It is good for players to get international honours but in certain circumstances the club has to come first, and we want JJ to be ok for our game at QPR, which is important to us.'

Wednesday face a vital clash with QPR a week on Saturday, and Laws is wanting his full squad available for selection as they look to continue their climb up the Championship table.

It is a shame as you say mick but good news for the club, you could just see him getting injured and missing a few games.
will it ever happen
