Lunt Rejects Saddlers

Out-of-favour Wednesday midfielder Kenny Lunt looks set to stay at S6 for the time being after turning down a deadline-week loan move to Walsall.

The former Crewe man has fallen down the pecking order at Hillsborough following the summer arrival of Sreve Watson and has been told he can leave S6 on loan for more regular first team football.

His former club at Gresty Road were thought to be in for him, and as reported on Vital Sheffield Wednesday last week, Walsall were also keen on his services.

But Lunt is set to remain an Owl - for the time being at least - with the deadline for 'emergency loans' coming to an end at the end of this week.

Australian club Sydney FC were also said to be interested in the midfielder but a possible move there collapsed after visa problems and a change in management at the club.
