'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It's Quiet. Too Quiet.

We're watching a Western movie. The 7th Cavalry are on patrol riding down a dusty canyon: nothing happening, no Indian signs...

Loan deadline day has passed. Sunderland's Graham Kavanagh is still Sunderland's Graham Kavanagh. Keano wants to keep him.. or at least save him until the transfer window and get some proper money for him. The Owls didn't ship anyone out and, as has been widely broadcast from S6, are not likely to get new players in until this happens.

Glenn Whelan is back from international duty.. well, we assume he is. No news yet on the effects of crunching tackle (thanks for that, Chris Armstrong, we've got your number) that put him out of the Irish B international match against Scotland. We'd like to know what the situation is.

JJ is back from international duty...a cameo appearance for Jamaica against El Salvador didn't stress the flying winger out too much, which is good news for him and good news for us.

Owls youngster Sean McAllister has joined Bury on loan until December...good man yerself. The 20 year old will do well for the Shakers, having done a job for Mansfield already this season following nine first team appearances for the Owls.

But it's quiet...too quiet.

What's this? A Sheffield Wednesday AGM next Thursday? Scheduled for the morning with national press called?

Forgive me for the analogy. This is the moment in the Western movie where the lead rider gets an arrow in the chest.. or does he?

This is where the lead rider takes the guns ,ammo and horses and runs away. leaving the cavalry to be scalped by big chief bankruptcy!
