Johnson Extends Loan - Again...

Derby defender Michael Johnson has extended his loan deal at Hillsborough for a third month with the experienced skipper having just two games remaining on his current deal at S6.

The former Rams captain had already seen his initial one-month loan deal extended last month but Johnson has agreed to stay on for a further month - the maximum permitted for short-term loans.

And it will mean he'll have to return to Pride Park on December 22, with Wednesday no doubt persuing a full-time deal for Johnson when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Owls boss Brian Laws told the Sheffield Star: 'I'm really pleased that we are able to keep Michael for a further month. He has settled in here and been a superb influence.'

Johnson has helped turn around the fortunes at S6 after arriving on the back of a woeful start by to the season by Brian Laws' men.

And his form could well mean the defender is also being chased by other Championship clubs - something that Johnson has already revealed, although he also said a move to Hillsborough would be his preferred destination.
