Dave Allen Resigns

Wednesday have announced that club chairman Dave Allen has today resigned from his post with immediate effect.

Allen announced his resignation of both his chairman and director post at a board meeting at Hillsborough earlier today, just days before the club's Annual General Meeting.

A statement on the official SWFC website says: "The board would like to place on record their appreciation of Mr Allen's significant contribution during his chairmanship."

Allen had spent nearly four and a half years at the Hillsborough helm after taking control of the club from Geoff Hulley back in June 2003, and had also been on the board of directors three years previous.

Well.......So this either leaves us up fecal creek without a paddle, or exciting times are ahead and we're about to be taken over or something? I'm thinking the former, it's the pessimistic Owls fan in me......
