Allen - Have YOUR Say!

We've heard the 'Allen Out!' chants, and now its happened - Dave Allen has resigned as Owls' chairman - and we want to hear YOUR thoughts on today's news.

The now former Owls supremo endured a tough time as Wednesday chairman, seeing the club plying their trade in League One before helping steer Wednesday back to the Championship and on the verge of the play-offs last season.

He didn't have a good time with the media and the fans, being interviewed as calling some fans 'cretins', and calling the now infamous press conference - which fans thought was to announce a takeover - to have a go at the media for building up takeover hopes.

And his inclusion in the legal action against fans on message board 'Owlstalk' didn't go down too well either, putting the majority of the Wednesday faithful against the Owls chairman.

But now his departure has left fans wondering what will happen next at Hillsborough, with administration being mentioned as the next step with no investor in line to take over the reins from Allen.

So what do you think to Allen's departure? Are you pleased to see him go, fearful of what will happen next, or both? Have your say now by voting in the latest Vital Sheffield Wednesday poll, or by visiting the official Vital Sheffield Wednesday forums by clicking below.

I to am glad he's gone ,but hope a new chairman comes along soon so as to aviod the administration step being taken

To be honest not glad he's gone ! Yes his PR skills could do with a bit of a polish, but i do think he always tried to do his best for the club. He has kept us afloat with his own money for the last few years. It's easy to say you would if you had his money but you don't he did and at the very least he deserves credit for that. I fear if there is no takeover before the AGM, at the AGM it will be announced that we are going into administration. Where that will leave us is anyones guess.
