Well the dust has settled, slightly, on Dave Allen's somewhat shock departure from the Hillsborough hotseat, and you've been having your say by the shedload on Vital Sheffield Wednesday!
It's fair to say the Vital Sheffield Wednesday forum has seen one of its more busier days thanks to Allen's resignation as chairman and director of the club and the views have seen mixed reaction from forum users.
It's also fair to say that Allen wasn't the most loved person around S6 after various outbursts about some of the club's fans, which has seen some taken to court as a result, and the lack of any investment in the club, despite a numer of interested parties.
And the news went down particularly well with some of the forum members who just couldn't wait to post following the news on Friday afternoon.
newman87 said: 'Get in there! Not posted for a while but this is the best news we've had in ages! Wonder if we're getting taken over soon if he's gone?'
heslip200 said: 'WOW really really shocked. Hope it means good times are to follow... but who knows.... Surely there must be good reason for him leaving so quickly.'
zorbatheowl said: 'Now lets all pull in the same direction, put aside our differences and get right behind the club.'
Most fans were keen to voice their delight that Allen had left the club, but there was plenty of confusion about his decision to resign days before the club's AGM, and also at what the next step is.
YoungBeevers said: 'What does this mean now then? New investment? Who is going to cover him for a week?'
wiggytheowl said: 'Wonder what cosequences for the club this will have? Has he walked away from his debt, has he payed his debt off from player sales. How does the club move forward now?Hope he has gone and walked away from his debt and written it off though somehow me thinks not.'
Smurf said: 'I wonder if he was going to resign next week, at the AGM, hence the he called for the National press to attend. His last chance to another swipe at the fans maybe?
'Anyway, Dave Allen has gone. Although he did not endear himself to the fans in any way, shape or form, I would like to thank him for stablising the ship.
'That said, I am glad he has gone and now we can hopefully move forward.'
And along with the delight and confusion, there were also some fans who may not have exactly been sad to see Allen go, but were worried about the future of the Owls with nobody to steer the ship of debts that Wednesday are currently carrying.
haxeyowl said: 'I cannot believe all these people celebrating Mr Allen going. He might not be popular. He maybe called some people cretins, but he was securing our debt with the bank. We could be in administration by Christmas.'
wiggytheowl said: 'Iagree with haxey about the administration. Allen has kept the the club moving and the wolfs from the door. Radio says Allen is still a major reason the bank hasn't wound the club up. I'm no fan of Allen but he offered stability. If the bank decides it wants its money back it could wind us up ask for a new buyer to come forward if none comes then sell assets to recoup money owed.'
We expected a wide variety of responses and boy did we get them! And you can carry on discussing the topic now on the official Vital Sheffield Wednesday forums, as well as everything SWFC!
