Owls Look To Raid Rams

Wednesday face a tough test in the FA Cup Third Round after being drawn to place Premiership strugglers Derby County in the prestigious competition.

The draw, made today at 3.15pm on BBC 1, pitted the Owls to travel to Pride Park on the weekend of January 5th or 6th, and will see former Wednesday boss Paul Jewell look to progress with the Rams against his former club.

It's the second season in succession that Brian Laws' men have been pitted against Premiership opposition, with the Owls taking in two clashes with Manchester City in last season's competition.

The Rams are currently rock-bottom of the Premiership after a torrid start to life back in the back time, but the appointment of Jewell could well see a change in fortunes in the coming weeks, and Derby could well see the competition as a welcome break from Premier League action.

Aston Villa will host Manchester United while QPR face a tough West London derby at Chelsea, while Sheffield United will face Bolton.

The full third round draw is as follows:

Preston v Scunthorpe
Port Vale/Chasetown v Cardiff
Colchester v Peterborough
Bolton v Sheffield United
Blackburn v Coventry
Brighton v Mansfield
Northampton/Walsall v Millwall
Charlton v West Brom
Watford v Crystal Palace
Luton/Nottingham Forest v Liverpool
Plymouth v Hull
Aston Villa v Manchester United
Tranmere v Hereford
Tottenham v Reading
Burnley v Arsenal
Bristol City v Middlesbrough
Fulham v Bristol Rovers
Huddersfield v Birmingham
Horsham/Swansea v Havant & Waterlooville
Sunderland v Wigan
Oxford/Southend v Dagenham & Redbridge
Everton v Oldham
Derby v Sheffield Wednesday
Southampton v Leicester
West Ham v Manchester City
Ipswich v Portsmouth
Wolves v Cambridge
Barnsley v Blackpool
Chelsea v QPR
Stoke v Newcastle
Swindon v Burton Albion/Barnet
Norwich v Bury
