New-Look Owls Adapt Well

Wednesday boss Brian Laws was pleased with the way his players adapted to the new-look 4-3-3 formation in the 0-0 stalemate with Southampton last night.

Injuries and a change in tactics meant that Laws had to tinker with his line-up before and during the match, but he insists he was pleased with how it worked out, and was happy with a share of the spoils following the weekend defeat to Colchester.

'We went 4-3-3 and we have never played that formation before so I was pleased with how the players adapted,' Laws told the official SWFC website.

'There wasn't enough ball retention on our part but I was pleased with how the players stuck to their task.'

The Owls boss was delighted that his men managed to keep their fourth clean sheet from five games, but also admitted that a point was the most Wednesday deserved at St Mary's.

'I've got to say that it would have been daylight robbery for us to win tonight but we worked hard and I am delighted with a point,' he added.

'After the disappointing defeat against Colchester on Saturday it was important to put in a solid defensive display and that is four clean sheets from five games now so I am very pleased in that respect.'

Will we see this formation a few more times from BL? Good point down at southampton and especially losing our best player early on.
will it ever happen
Well done on taking 4 pts off the scummers. If everyone did that they'd be relegated. Lovely thought.
