Laws Yet To Talk To Board

The January transfer window is only just round the corner but Owls boss Brian Laws has revealed he's yet to sit down with the board and discuss what he has to spend.

Laws is desperate to bring some new faces in to the squad in the new year to bolster his squad, but the current financial situation at S6 has left the Owls supremo in limbo as to how much, if anything, he'll have to spend.

But he insists that he'll continue to look at potential recruits until the current board tell him otherwise.

'Until someone tells me otherwise I'll still be looking (for new players)', Laws told Radio Sheffield.

'I'll still draw up a list of players if there is some financial situation where we can go out and bring new players in.

'It's disappointing that we can't really get to sit down. At some stage they'll call me in and we'll have a meeting about where we're going to go forward, but they've got other important issues to sort out as well. But the sooner the better if we can.'

The resignation of Dave Allen from the board and as chairman threw doubt over the Owls' financial situation, but a statement from the remaining board members last week revealed there was no need to worry about administration.

But the Owls' finances could well be limited come January, unless Laws manages to offload players to help with the spending budget.
