Lucas To Miss Season

Paul Sturrock has revieved the disastrous news that goalkeeper David Lucas will miss the rest of the season after picking up an injury in the weekend's victory at Millwall.

Lucas was stretchered off just before half-time on Saturday and scans show cruciate knee ligament damage in his right knee which will rule him out for months.

The former Preston NE stopper had only made his return from a knee injury against Luton Town last week, but will now face more agony on the sidelines following his latest setback.

The news is likely to mean Paul Sturrock will look at the loan market to bring in a new goalkeeper to cover for Lucas. Nicky Weaver won't be an option this time around as Football League rules won't permint him to return to Hillsborough again.
