Owls Investment Talks Ongoing

The Owls board have revealed that talks with a potential investor are at an 'advanced' stage and talks are currently ongoing.

The financial future of the club was thrown up in the air last month when chairman and board member Dave Allen resigned from both positions, hinting rumours of the club going in to administration.

But the current board acted swiftly to deny the claims, and have now revealed that they're currently in advanced talks with a potential investor.

And board member Geoff Hulley revealed to the Sheffield Star that the fans would have more news on the matter as soon as possible.

'We are speaking, and it is getting quite advanced,' he said.

'But with anything like this, there has to be some secrecy. It is a sensitive issue.

'We have to ensure that whatever we do is the right thing for the club, currently and in the long term. It has to be worked out properly.

'As soon as we are able to give any details, the fans and shareholders will be the first to be informed. We do have everybody's interests at heart, particularly the club's.'

Boxing promoter and die-hard Wednesday fan Dennis Hobson and his Jersey consortium are rumoured to have renewed their interest following the resignation of Allen, but the Owls board are yet to give any clues as to the potential investor, and whether the deal would be a full takeover or an investment.

Ken Cooke claimed that the board were not in talks with anyone. Kaven Walker yesterday told Radio Sheffield that they were in talks with someone, but refused to comment when told what KC had said..... Sounds like left arm doesn't know what right arm is doing!

I would rather they just keep their gobs shut until something is in place, rumours and stories like this usually end up in a cock up of some sorts, my money though for rumours sake is Hobson or shepherd
