Foxes Hunt Owls Target

Sunderland midfielder Graham Kavanagh is a target for Owls boss Brian Laws in January, but Leicester City could be set to hijack the bid according to reports today.

The former Republic of Ireland man enjoyed a successful one-month loan stint at Hillsborough earlier in the season before being recalled by Black Cats' boss Roy Keane, despite the Owls' attempts to keep him longer.

But Kav has failed to make an impact at the Premiership club since his return, and with Keane set to spend big in the January transfer window, the midfield is almost certain to depart.

Hillsborough looked the most likely destination for the former Cardiff and Stoke man following Brian Laws' desire to keep him, but Ian Holloway could be set to hijack the deal by attempting to take the Irishman to Leicester City.

And a number of other Championship clubs, including Norwich City, have also shown an interest in bagging Kavanagh's services, proving his signature will be no easy feat for Wednesday come January 1.

BBC sport don't even mention our interest in him - looks like it's a done deal, we won't be seeing him at S6 in a blue and white shirt again. Shame.
