QPR Approach Owls Duo

QPR Approach Owls Duo

Wednesday have turned down bids for youngster Tommy Spurr and jet-heeled winnger Jermaine Johnson from Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers this week.

Owls boss Brian Laws had already revealed a lot of interest had been shown in Spurr - who has his home kit sponsored by Vital Sheffield Wednesday - while Johnson has impressed since his arrival at S6 earlier this year.

But Wednesday showed no hesitation in turning down the approached from the Loftus Road club, who are keen to strengthen their squad to move away from the Championship relegation spots.

And Owls chief executive Kaven Walker revealed that he didn't need to think twice about rejected the offers from the R's.

He told the official SWFC website: 'We have no intention of selling either Tommy Spurr or Jermaine Johnson as these two players are both top assets in our playing squad.'

What do folks think of this - if you went to the abandoned, null and void Coventry match Wednesday are going to charge you another £5 to get a ticket for the re-arranged match! How can they justify charging people again? Season ticket holders don't have to pay again, but the rest of us do. I'm not going - expect the attendance to be around 16,000 maximum.

Spurr is good enough, playing out of position and has been great for us up to now. Need to keep him because he will get better and better. Would say the attendance to be lower than that for the re-arranged game against Coventry.
will it ever happen

Sales from food and drink would easily cover the cost to staff the re-arranged game - the extra £5 is just a crude money making scheme at the expense of the fans.

NOT MOANERS WORKSOP just realists £5 to you but a £5 to someone else mate might just as well be a £1000. wot about coventry fans dont you think they hav paid enough out 2 lots of travel on top of ticket price. the owls fans who live outside the area , this club has had enough bad press with out this.
