Derby Game To Top 30,000

Next week's Steel City derby is set to be the biggest Championship gate so far this season after the club announced that over 30,000 seats had already been sold, with a week still to go.

Many Owls fans doubted there would be a big attendance following the club's scheme that non season-ticket holders had to attend two of the previous three matches.

The scheme meant that Wednesday fans who are forced to pick their matches due to work commitments, or who lived abroad, would find it difficult to attend the match because they couldn't attend two of the previous three matches.

It was put in place to stop away fans getting seats in home area, and at the same time generate more money for the club through ticket sales.

The matches against Leicester City and Luton Town both saw increased attendances, and this weekend's clash with Crystal Palace is likely to follow the trend.

With our neighbours quickly selling out their 6,000+ allocation, Hillsborough is set to be packed to the rafters for what is sure to be a fantastic match.
