Sturrock Targets Keeper Duo

Owls boss Paul Sturrock has made former Wolves 'keeper Paul Jones and Manchester City stopper Nicky Weaver his main targets after David Lucas was ruled out for the rest of the season.

Sturrock hopes to have someone in for the weekend's clash with Crystal Palace, but the decision may hinge on Manchester City's decision to release Weaver or not.

The Sheffield-born 'keeper has already spent three months on-loan with the Owls this season - the maximum he can spend on loan with a club during one season. His contract runs out in the summer though, and City may be prepared to let Weaver go early to play some first team football.

Jones, 38, was released by Wolves last week and is currently training with West Ham to keep his fitness levels up, and is the more likely choice for the rest of the season.
