Legal Action Dropped

Former Owls chairman Dave Allen and Ian Jenkins, one of the 'Owlstalk Four', have resolved their differences.

Following an apology from Jenkins, one of the Owlstalk forum users identified following a Court Order against the web site's operator, Allen has agreed not to take any further action.

A joint statement on the SWFC official web site details the apology - 'I accept that elements of the statement I made on the Owlstalk website were without foundation and deeply offensive. I unreservedly withdraw those suggestions made in the statement and apologise to the Club's former Chairman, Mr Allen, for any distress, embarrassment or inconvenience that these allegations caused him.' - and the legal action is now dropped.

Positive news: let's hope the remaining cases can be settled in the same sensible manner.

What ever happened to this FOOTBALL club? I remember when I was a kid going to my first game back in the early 80's and being mesmerised by these 11 players on the pitch and idolising every one of them. At the minute I just feel really digected with all the potitics and off the pitch goings on. It seems that we sometimes forget that this is just a game and with all the negative thoughts that get thrown in the fans faces day in day out.... well is it worth it? All I can hope is that when I have kids and I decide to take them to their first game, that it's a Wednesday match I go to and not some other team having lost all faith in my boyhood club.

lying in bed last night i realised its nearly ten years since we were relegated from the prem..... just look at the league now... wigan, fulham, reading, Bolton, Middlesborough.... when i was first getting into football these teams were nothing- fulham bottom of the old 4th and im not sure wigan were even a league club. the point to my story is young football fans from around the country probably think of wednesday as a nothing club no history never bin good and are probably under the delusion that the red and white w*** are the biggest team in sheff.... makes me angry!!! no point to this comment just thought id let u all now wot i do of an evening!!!!!!!!!!!

Owlsmad & mansfield: you've still got the passion. You'd be welcome to express those views on the forum.. keep the faith.
