Oldham To Talk To Clarke

Radio Sheffield reports that Oldham have been given permission to discuss personal terms with Owls striker Leon Clarke.

His recent loan period at Southend ended more with a whimper than a bang when manager Steve Tilson openly questioned Clarke's commitment to the Shripmers. Clarke's stats during his time at Roots Hall are impressive, however: a goal every two games a clear indication that he can definitely do a job at that level.

Brian Laws said yesterday there were other clubs in the hunt for the ex-Wolves man's signature and so it has proved: John Sheridan and the Oldham board can now make an offer to a player they know all about. Clarke spent a month there last season, scoring three in five.

Leeds are also rumoured to be interested.. however that seems to be pure speculation at this stage. Watch this space.

Apparently they have put a 3mill price tag on Beckford's head as Derby are interested, we won't have anything near that obviously
McQuaid-Owls
LOOKS LIKE CLARKE MOVE IS ONLY A LOAN but suppose it will free his wages up
mick66owl
Starting today, wonder what that means for his move?
