Folly Out, Wallwork In

Early reports from Radio Sheffield indicate transfer activity at S6 involving Yoann Folly and West Brom's Ronnie Wallwork.

Perhaps predictably, French midfielder Folly is moving to Paul Sturrock's Plymouth.. Owls boss Brian Laws' comments earlier in the week become a little clearer now.

30 year old former Manchester United product Wallwork is understood to be at the end of his contract at West Brom. Off and on-field incidents have halted his progression, but he was a consistent performer during 2004-5 and WBA's Player Of The Season. Since Tony Mowbray took over from Bryan Robson, Wallwork's opportunities at The Hawthorns have been limited. He's had loan periods at Bradford, Barnsley, and Huddersfield and now looks to be adding to his collection of Yorkshire clubs by linking up with the Owls.

More details when they come in.

ON THE SURFACE DOESNT SEEM TO be a bad signing not surprised at folly goin to plymouth though . never really had a fair crack of the whip at hilsbora but so havent better players than him in the past
mick66owl
its official... folly gone to plymouth... we now officially have no player who can pass a ball with ease!! except of course bullen... he's a superstar
FUTURES BLUE N WHITE
Ronnie Wallwork - had been on loan at Huddersfield so he's obviously going to be top quality.
onedeaddj
we've officially signed wallwork too!!

cant find any mention of a transfer fee coming in for folly though, kaven walker states we have 'agreed a deal'. sounds like theyve given him away for nowt.

Ay first wasn't to happy but lets give the guy a chance first before getting on his back. Thats the last thing he wants.
will it ever happen
THATS PUT US ON A KNIFE EDGE signing ronnie
mick66owl
folly was a decent player.it was a shame laws didnt rate him cos i thought last season he looked good, wallwork would be a good signing for us,im vaguely excited,,think hes qiute versitile, anyone know where he plays?
raven jet byrne
at last some steel in midfield!..maybe whelan will now have the freedom to play the football we know he can play!
WORKSOP..OWL
i kno he was stabbed worksop but to assume they didnt remove the blade is a bit presumptuous!!!! wot an awful joke. but im pleased.... only till end of season tho so hes either on a fair whack or laws aint to sure about him
mansfieldowl
That really was awful mansfield! :P Let's hope he can bring some mych needed experience to our midfield. If we left Bullen out, we've got to be one of the youngest teams in the division don't we? Especially if both Beevers and Spurr play...
NicNac
Glad to see the Folly issue is finally reolved, we have a player who can challenge for a first team place instead of being a decent back up player but never anything more. Good move for the club
Walkley
does anyone know if we actually got any money for folly
mick66owl
diabolical league 1 here we go!
