Cup Clash Postponed

Wednesday's FA Cup 3rd Round replay clash with Derby County has been postponed tonight due to the bad weather around South Yorkshire.

The club had been in contact with the FA regarding the state of the pitch, but had expected the match to go ahead as planned at 10am this morning despite the heavy downpour.

But the match has now been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, following on from the Owls' abandoned Championship clash with Coventry City earlier in the season.

The match will now go ahead next Tuesday, January 22 kicking off at 7.45pm.

shocking, but not suprised, only game to ba called off at the moment
Best to call it off now rather than later, has been throwing it down all morning. Not bad news really as our players will have had a full weeks rest for the big one on Saturday.
will it ever happen
If the 'big one' goes ahead, the rest of the weeks weather isn't looking any better
ITS EMBARRASING... you could understand it if we supported havant & waterlooville.
Embarrasing it is, but it's not all the clubs fault, the summer floods left the pitch in no state to start the season and this is a knock on of that
to be fair the groundstaff did well to get it playable within a month the state it was in... if they hadnt we could have been docked points n be bottom!!
or we could have been sharing a ground with the blunts, so I think I prefer it this way
WE COULD HAVE PLAYED IT TONITE. snorkels and flippers were available.
Just had a walk through the groung and had a look and it is in a bad way, plenty of surface water on the pitch so if any more heavy rain does fall, we could see the game off on Saturday aswell?!!
will it ever happen
just 1 thing in a huge list thats wrong with this club.... as u can tell im a little dispondant..... cant see a silver lining
It's a real possibility that Saturday could eb off aswell, teh pitch is very wet and the weather isn't going to get better (or so they say at the moment). think we should prepare for the worst
At the moment i would say it's 50/50 for Saturdays game!!
will it ever happen
just got off the fone to the receptionist @ hillsborough..... howmany people do they have working in the ticket office the week before the derby? one!
I queued for an hour yesterday afternoon for a ticket for this evening - shouldn't have bothered! Only 4 bloody people on ticket office though! Crazy! Anyone know if I can get refund on ticket as am away with work next Tues?? Gutted - was looking forward to the game this eve!
at least were not the only match to be rained off now, Barnets game has become a victim of the weather too,
As well as Bristol Rovers an Fulhams.
they're falling like flys!!! at least the club had the decency to do it early so no one travelled to the ground
I think the Coventry game made the decision for them, dont think they wanted to go throught that again, getting started and then calling it off.
will it ever happen
what do you think the score will be on sat if its on guys? im thinking 2-1 to wednesday.
100% owl
11-0 to the mighty Owls, and every player will score a goal a piece!!
will it ever happen
think thats a little amitious, even for a player of clarkes ability!! maybe just the 3 for clarke!!
Ok then, if it does go ahead i will go for a 2-0 win for the super Owls!!
will it ever happen
2-1 to the Wednesday !!
2-0 wednesady sodje n whelan for the goals!!! come on wednesday!!!
If sodje plays we win but if he doesnt make the game i fear the worse.
will it ever happen
I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach that we are goig to whoop them 4-1 and if we do i'm taking Monday off work
Guess this picture shows what a pitch looks like when the sprinklers have neen left on, anyone else herd that rumour??
