'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Thanks, Mrs Laws!

Wednesday shouldn't have required much motivation for the 119th Steel City Derby, but they got an extra boost from the most unlikely of sources.

Brian Laws' wife is a die-hard Wednesdayite, and was delighted when her husband took on the role of manager of the Owls over a year ago.

And the Owls gaffer was told that his bags would be packed and that he'd be homesless should his Wednesday charges return from the first derby match of the season without all three points.

Indeed, the scarf that Laws was parading about following goals from Akpo Sodje and Marcus Tudgay belonged to Mrs Laws, although I'm not sure she was too pleased when her husband promptly threw it in to the crowd on the final whistle!

Thanks Mrs Laws, and hopefully you'll have the same effect come the return leg at Bramall Lane!
