Owls Eye Permanent Kav Deal

Owls Eye Permanent Kav Deal

On-loan Sunderland midfielder Graham Kavanagh could well bag a permanent deal at Hillsborough in the summer if he impresses Owls boss Brian Laws, according to reports today.

The former Republic of Ireland international has been deemed surplus to requirements under Black Cats boss Roy Keane this season and is likely to fall further down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light when Keane strengthens his squad at the end of the season.

And the news means Kav will be looking for a new permanent home, with Wednesday being the favourites to sign the experienced midfielder in the summer should he impress in the blue and white for the remainder of the season and help the Owls avoid the drop.

Glenn Whelan was sold to Stoke City for £500,000 in the January transfer window after the Irishman turned down the offer of a new contract, and Laws could well see Kavanagh as the ideal replacement.

Reports are saying it would cost us £200k for him, sorry but not for me. No probs for the rest of the season but that's it.
will it ever happen

Lets just hope he can make an impact whilst hes here, And hopefully help us avoid the drop
05/02/2008 09:26:00
Depends how much he'd cost I think and obviously how he does between now and the end of season. Rather have him in the middle than Watson, Lunt...who else have we got?? Don't see we have a lot of other options - can't see us bringing in anyone decent on the money we can offer
05/02/2008 10:09:00
if hes free then yes sign him up but we need some one at side of him who can do the spade work
05/02/2008 10:49:00
Well in the Star today it say's BL is after a young midfielder from the prem, aswell as the striker who he is waiting for to make his mind up if he's coming or not!!
will it ever happen
05/02/2008 11:40:00
Oh man wieh! I thought the striker was just a matter of putting pen to paper - you seem to suggest it's not a definite yet?? Can just see us losing out...again. Feeling depressed about everything today :-(
05/02/2008 12:23:00
Same here SO, but in the star it says that it's up to the striker now if he wants to come!!
will it ever happen
05/02/2008 12:25:00
Think we need another midfilder including Kav so hope the reports in the star are true, wouldm't be offering Kav a new deal until summer anyway, if even
05/02/2008 13:25:00
we havent got enough midfielders, give sean macallister a chance i always thought he did well wen he played
05/02/2008 13:55:00
If Kav is a free transfer that doesn't break the wage budget then maybe he's worth an 18 month contract, but at his age you never know how long he will last physically.
