Owls Eye Permanent Kav Deal

Owls Eye Permanent Kav Deal

On-loan Sunderland midfielder Graham Kavanagh could well bag a permanent deal at Hillsborough in the summer if he impresses Owls boss Brian Laws, according to reports today.

The former Republic of Ireland international has been deemed surplus to requirements under Black Cats boss Roy Keane this season and is likely to fall further down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light when Keane strengthens his squad at the end of the season.

And the news means Kav will be looking for a new permanent home, with Wednesday being the favourites to sign the experienced midfielder in the summer should he impress in the blue and white for the remainder of the season and help the Owls avoid the drop.

Glenn Whelan was sold to Stoke City for £500,000 in the January transfer window after the Irishman turned down the offer of a new contract, and Laws could well see Kavanagh as the ideal replacement.

Depends how much he'd cost I think and obviously how he does between now and the end of season. Rather have him in the middle than Watson, Lunt...who else have we got?? Don't see we have a lot of other options - can't see us bringing in anyone decent on the money we can offer

Oh man wieh! I thought the striker was just a matter of putting pen to paper - you seem to suggest it's not a definite yet?? Can just see us losing out...again. Feeling depressed about everything today :-(

If Kav is a free transfer that doesn't break the wage budget then maybe he's worth an 18 month contract, but at his age you never know how long he will last physically.
