Owls Sign QPR's Bolder

Owls Sign QPR's Bolder

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has fulfilled his promise of bolstering the Owls' midfield by bringing in QPR club captain Adam Bolder on a one-month loan deal today.

Laws was keen to add to his midfielder after the lacklustre performance in the Owls' 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town last week, and Bolder will add a vast amount of Championship experience to the Wednesday squad following spells with QPR, Hull City and Derby County.

Bolder is the club captain at Loftus Road but has been made available after the arrival of a number of new players to Loftus Road following the influx of cash at the Owls' Championship rivals.

And Laws has revealed that Bolder's stay at S6 could well be extended.

'One thing that Adam Bolder can bring to Sheffield Wednesday is energy,' Laws told the official SWFC website.

'He is also a good talker and has experience of being in this position before so that will be valuable. He has the ingredients we need in this predicament we find ourselves in the league at the moment.

'Adam is a great age and the fact that he brings experience with him means he has the assets we need. We will be looking to see how the initial month's loan goes and there will be a possibility of extending that so we are delighted to welcome him to the football club.'

Bolder has been somewhat of a first team regular for the R's this season and will go straight in to the Wednesday squad that travels to Bristol City on Saturday.

I'l be making the trip to Bristol, its cost me an arm and a leg. Im preying for a win, but most importantly I want to see effort. If Bolder comes with the right attitude and wants to prove his worth at this level, then I can see him been a good loanee.

Awesome. He sounds promising. Know very little about him, but he's the right age and will give some depserately needed legs to the middle of the park. Experience of playing with Tuggy / Burton / Grant at Derby can only be good. Hopefully he's as willing to get stuck in as Whelo was. A no nonesense, tough tackling battler who can pass well is exactly what we need

A QPR reject I think dbblue, who isn't good enough to get into their high-flying 18th placed squad.

Super were all getting on his back already for FFS !! Why not give the lad a chance !?? Qpr got in 10 players in January, he can't get into a side with Rowlands Mahon an Buzsacky, some of the best midfielders in this division an the "reject" played 25 times this season he just hasn't featured since their big spending Jan. He's a box to box player who can offer us an attacking option from centre midfield, he's what we need and I for one am pleased.

i see where you are coming from mac but i'm not sure signing players less than 24 hours before ko and putting em straight in is a good idea, see wot happened last saturday, we have to have a better plan surely
