Wednesday will aim to bring their season to a close in winning fashion at Hillsborough on Saturday when Exeter City are the visitors.
The Owls have enjoyed a run of just one defeat in seven matches in the run-up to the clash with the Grecians and boss Gary Megson will be eager to take his side's impressive form into the close season.
At the start of the season Wednesdayites will have been hoping for some promotion celebrations on the final day but at least they can go into the summer with some positivity after a mid-season collapse could have made for a tricky end to the campaign at the wrong end of the table.
A play-off finish is out-of-reach for Exeter but they can still look back on an encouraging season and will also be aiming to finish on a high.
Exeter striker Richard Logan told BBC Devon:
'We've done really well this season and if we can finish seventh that would be great.
'It could be the best finish ever from an Exeter team so that's what we're trying to aim for now.'
'I think it's going to be a big crowd up there, probably 20,000 plus, so it's going to be a big game.
'Obviously we don't play against those sort of crowds week in week out, so we've just got to soak it all all in go there and get a result.'
Defender Mark Beevers is the only injury absentee for Wednesday as they aim to bring the curtain down on a disappointing campaign with victory.
Boss Gary Megson will otherwise have a full squad to choose from as he aims to guide Wednesday to a fifth straight victory on home soil - quite an achievement given the problems earlier in the campaign.
Striker Neil Mellor, named the Player of the Year this week, will start the final game of his loan spell with the Owls before returning to parent club Preston North End, where he will decide on his future.
Danny Batth and Rob Jones, other loanees, are also likely to get the nod in a starting role before returning to their respective clubs.
Megson will have to decide whether to stick or twist the eleven he gave starting roles in the 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers last week.
Mellor was named Player of the Year at the club's end-of-season awards ceremony this week and he'll be keen to finish his season-long loan spell in style. With 20 goals this term, Mellor is the Owls' leading scorer and is also in-line for the League One Player of Month accolade for April.
The Grecians will arrive in Sheffield with a top-six finish out of reach but in a superb run of form which has seen them bag six wins from their last seven outings.
Boss Paul Tisdale, like Gary Megson, has been nominated for the League One Manager of the Month award for April.
Exeter sit eighth in the league table going into the clash and will be aiming for three points to try and help them into seventh, should other results go their way, to make it the best finish to a season ever by an Exeter side.
Tisdale is thought to have no fresh injury or suspension concerns ahead of the encounter.
The experienced striker may not be getting any younger, but Cureton has still found the back of the net on a regular basis for the Grecians this season. He's the club's top-scorer with 17 goals to his name and will be looking to add to that tally at Hillsborough.
