Hillsborough welcomes back Championship football on Tuesday night as Lee Clark brings his Birmingham City side to the Steel City.
Both sides drew their opening matches of the new campaign at the weekend and both will be eager to clock up their first three points, especially the Owls on home soil.
Owls boss Dave Jones is out to maintain his unbeaten record in competitive matches at S6 while new Blues boss Clark is out to make a mark at St Andrews.
All eyes will be on whether new signing Rodri makes the squad following his season-long loan signing from Barcelona B on Monday.
The Spanish striker, 22, was registered in time to feature against the Blues and he could be set for a start on the bench.
Fellow forwards Gary Madine and Chris Maguire will both be chomping at the bit to start after taking the spots on the bench at Derby, but three goals in two games from Chris O'Grady means the former Rochdale man will expect to keep his place.
Anthony Gardner is expected to shake off an injury to be fit to feature, leaving Chris Lines as the only Wednesday player in the treatment room.
Whether he starts or not, Rodri is expected to be in the squad and Wednesdayites will be desperate to see the qualities the Spanish striker can bring to S6 this season.
Nikola Zigic will be pushing for a recall to the starting line-up after netting a late leveller for City in the opening fixture of the season against Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
Zigic started from the bench against the Addicks but could be thrown into the starting eleven, possibly at the expense of Peter Lovenkrands, to cause the Owls defence all kinds of problems.
Experienced defender Stephen Carr has missed Birmingham's first two fixtures of the season through a thigh injury but could return to action at Hillsborough.
The heartbeat of Birmingham's midfield, Ambrose will be a handful for his Wednesday counterparts to deal with. Can pop up with the odd goal, too.
Wednesday wins: 28
Birmingham wins: 33
Last Time Out:
Birmingham 3-0 Wednesday
St Andrews, 19/2/11
The last time the sides met was in the FA Cup, with the Blues easing to a 3-0 win. Jean Beausejour, Obafemi Martins and David Murphy grabbed the goals.
v Millwall (H) - 25/8/12
