The Championship is back following the international break and Wednesday will resume their search for a first win of the season at Bolton Wanderers.
The Lancashire outfit are having problems of their own at the wrong end of the table but did pick up their first victory last time out at Birmingham, although they're still awaiting a first three points on home soil.
Owls fans will be hoping a weekend with no competitive action will have allowed Dave Jones and his players the ideal chance to gear-up for the trip across the Pennines and finally end their wait for three points.
Owls midfielder Giles Coke told the official SWFC website:
"Other teams in this division have lost more games than us, we`re not panicking one bit and we`re still confident. When that first win comes, we will start picking up more and more.
"We need to start cutting out those little mistakes that have cost us points late in games and we will start winning, I`ve got no doubt about that."
Dougie Freedman told the official BWFC website:
"The games are very tight in this division and they are often settled on one or two goals maximum, so we will treat the Sheffield Wednesday game as we do any other," he said in his pre-match press conference.
"They`ve got one or two fantastic players in their team and Dave Jones knows what he`s doing.
"We`ve got to make sure we approach it in the right way and maintain the intensity that we play with at home and hopefully we`ll get the result that the performances have merited over the past few home games."
Bolton will be buoyed by their first win of the season at Birmingham City last time out and will be looking to make it a first home win this weekend.
Their success in the Midlands could mean boss Dougie Freedman sticks with the same starting eleven with no fresh injury concerns or suspensions hanging over his squad.
Mark Davies, Marc Tierney and Stuart Holden remain sidelined with longer-term injuries.
Beckford has a fine track record at Championship level and got on the scoresheet in Wanderers' win at Birmingham last week. Bolton fans will hope that gives him the confidence to kick-on - starting this weekend.
Reda Johnson is Wednesday's biggest worry going into the game with a groin injury and will be assessed as close to kick-off as possible.
If he fails to recover in time the Owls have been boosted with the news that Joe Mattock is in-line to return to action if needed. Mattock suffered an injury in the Owls' first game of the season at QPR but has now recovered.
The Owls also have a doubt over goalkeeper Chris Kirkland, who has been suffering from illness this week. Wednesday brought in young Arsenal goalkeeper Damian Martinez this week and he is eligible to go straight into the starting eleven if needed.
David Prutton is definitely unavailable and will be out for 4-5 weeks with an ankle injury.
The noises from Hillsborough point towards a debut for young Arsenal goalkeeper Martinez with Chris Kirkland suffering from an illness. Martinez let in five goals for Arsenal when they beat Reading 7-5 in a famous cup tie and Owls fans will be hoping he's a bit better at the Reebok if he plays.
Bolton wins: 37
Wednesday wins: 51
Last Time Out:
Bolton 0-1 Wednesday
The Reebok Stadium, 26/12/12
The last time the Owls travelled to Bolton Mamady Sidibe's first-half strike gave the visitors all three points and a late Christmas present on Boxing Day of last year.
v Barnsley (A) - 26/10/13
