The New Den
Tuesday, January 28
Wednesday will look to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches in all competitions, and make it seven unbeaten on their travels, when they visit the capital to take on Millwall on Tuesday night.
Both sides are in trouble at the wrong end of the Championship table, making three points crucial in the battle against relegation. Chris Maguire's goal in the corresponding fixture last season gave Wednesday a big push towards safety.
While the Owls are in good form under new permanent boss Stuart Gray, the Lions will be hoping to have an upturn in fortunes of their own after recently appointing Ian Holloway as manager.
Lions boss Ian Holloway could hand debuts to two new players for the visit of Wednesday.
DJ Campbell, a favourite of the former Blackpool and Leicester City boss, has joined the London club, while Shaun Williams has also bolstered the 'Wall squad.
Campbell's arrival is timely, with striker Jermaine Easter unavailable as he sits out the final game of a three-match suspension. Regular goalkeeper David Forde is a doubt, however, and will be assessed before kick-off.
Millwall sit precariously above the relegation zone but will look to make it two wins on the spin following a close-fought 1-0 home win over Ipswich Town at the weekend.
Campbell is a goal threat at Championship level and will want to get off to a scoring start should he make his debut against the Owls. Holloway knows all about the forward having worked with him during his time at Blackpool.
New permanent Owls boss Stuart Gray will have to do some shuffling to his pack after Sunderland recalled star loan man Connor Wickham this week.
Wickham had been a sensation at Hillsborough but the youngster looks set for a move to Brighton, leaving the Owls with a gap to fill. Atdhe Nuhiu and Caolan Lavery look the likely replacements, with no new signing likely to come in before Tuesday's match.
Wednesday will also have to make changes at the back to the side that beat Rochdale in the FA Cup at the weekend as full-back Joe Mattock serves a one-match ban for his sending off at Spotland. Jeremy Helan could come in.
Chris Kirkland is likely to come back in goal to replace 'cup keeper' Damian Martinez.
Wednesday will be sporting a new all-white third strip due to a kit clash with the Lions. Earlier in the season, the Lions had to borrow some kit from the Owls at Hillsborough after forgetting to bring their kit.
With Connor Wickham returning to parent Sunderland from his S6 loan stint, Wednesdsay fans Caolan Lavery can continue his development and step up on the goals trail.
Millwall wins: 14
Wednesday wins: 16
Last Time Out:
Wednesday 2-2 Millwall
Andy Keogh's 87th-minute penalty gave the Lions a share of the spoils when the sides met in South Yorkshire earlier this season. A Kamil Zayatte own goal gave the visitors an early lead before Reda Johnson hit back straight away. Jeremy Helan gave the hosts a half-time lead before Keogh's late leveller.
