Wednesday face one of their biggest games of the season in a relegation six pointer against Crewe at Hillsborough.
Wednesday will welcome new signings Deon Burton and Marcus Tudgay to the squad after being signed on Sunday afternoon. The pair may replace Barry Corr and Chris Brunt in new-look attack.
Glenn Whelen is likely to return to the side after sitting out the win at Turf Moor with a slight knock. Whelen is likely to replace the injured Steve Adams in midfield, after the former Plymouth man battled his way through the pain barrier against Burnley.
Nicky Weaver plays his final game for the club as his current loan deal from Manchester City expires after the game. Should David Lucas not be fit though, Paul Sturrock is likely to extend the stoppers deal if possible.
Star man Chris Brunt may return to his usual left-sided midfield role with Burton and Tudgay arriving. Richie Partridge may be involved on the right side of midfield after Chris Eagles loan deal from Manchester United expired after the Burnley match.
Steve Maclean, Jon-Paul McGovern, Drew Talbot, David Lucas, and David Graham are all out with injuries.
Brunt has lacked consistency over the past few weeks, but that may be down to the Northern Ireland international being rotated for the good of the team. Brunt has been used to support Barry Corr in attack over the past few games, and is likely to revert to his left-sided role with the arrival of Deon Burton and Marcus Tudgay.
Brunt is the clubs leading scorer with five goals to his name. His left foot is also the provider of goals thanks to his lethal free-kicks and corners.
Crewe striker Michael Higdon is likely to be missing from the side for the fourth consecutive match after tearing a stomach muscle.
Goalkeeper Ben Williams will also be out of the match after suffering a wrist injury. As a result Crewe have extended the loan deal of 'keeper Ross Turnbull.
Eddie Johnson has also had his loan stay extended with the Cheshire club, but he will miss the trip to Hillsborough after aggravating his hamstring in the 4-3 home defeat to QPR at the weekend.
Striker Juan Ugarte will definately miss the game with a knee injury, and Richard Walker has an ankle injury.
Crewe are renowned for producing and developing young prospects and then selling them on to bigger clubs. Vaughan is one of these players, and is being scouted by many Premiership clubs.
He can operate on the left hand side of either midfield or defence, and has contributed two goals from 22 appearances for Alex this season.
Vaughan was the club's player of the season last season, and has also won full international honours for Wales.

FA Cup 3rd Round
15th January 2002
Crewe 2-1 Wednesday
The last time the two clubs met was during an FA Cup 3rd round tie nearly four years ago. The original tie was called off due to snow, and Owls fans wished they hadn't made the midweek trip after seeing Wednesday slump to a 2-1 defeat thanks to goals from Ben Rix and Steve Foster. Matthew Hamshaw got the Owls consolation goal.
